Jane’s Israeli Air Force is a military jet aircraft Combat flight simulation video game released in 1998. Created by the Israeli software developer Pixel Multimedia and released under the Jane’s Combat Simulations line from Electronic Arts.

The plot is set in the Middle East, featured a single campaign mode which included several missions and a Massively Multiplayer Online Arena. There were two type of campaigns; the first type of campaigns featured recreations of several historic operations of the IAF such as the 1967 Six-Day War, the 1973 Yom Kippur War, and the 1982 Lebanon War.

The second types of campaigns featured several fictional futuristic operations with Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. (Source: Wikipedia)

F/A-18 Interceptor (AMIGA/1988) – Full Playthrough

F/A-18 Interceptor (AMIGA/1988)
F/A-18 Interceptor (AMIGA/1988)

I never had the chance to use the Amiga platform at the time. I’ve always been a Microsoft guy most of the time. So when I discover this flight simulator, I just had to play it.

It’s extremely closed to Jetfighter: The Adventure and Jetfighter II: Advanced Tactical Fighter for MS-DOS. I read somewhere that some of the people that worked on F/A-18 Interceptor later worked on the development of Jetfighter. if that’s so, you can really see it.

The game is very basic but fun, you can fly either the F/A-18 Hornet or the F-16 Fighting Falcon and only air-to-air weapons can be loaded on your plane, so no bombing raids here.

One thing that really stood out when I played it was the good sound quality, a big difference when compared to its MS-DOS counterpart. Find this game and play it, you won’t be disappointed.

This game is now abandonware and can be played in Windows OS. It has been tested on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 and so far no problems have been detected.

You can download the game file, the Amiga OS emulator and the game’s manual (compressed on a single .ZIP file) from this link.

Jetfighter V: Homeland Protector (2003) – Full Playthrough

Jetfighter V: Homeland Protector (2003)

I’ve had known about Jetfighter V for several years but never had the chance to play it. Now that I’m back into flight simulations I looked on Ebay and could get a cheap copy of the game and installed on my PC after some compatibility configurations.

The game is more “arcade” than simulator when compared to other titles of the Jetfighter Saga but still managed to keep the jetfighter spirit that made this saga memorable.

The Plot

While on a routine training mission, you’ve been suddenly called back to base. It seems that an invasion fleet has been sighted just off the waters of United States West Coast.

Few days prior to this call, The North Korea government reported that an unknown force has attacked its main bases, and made off with a large number of fighters, bombers, tanks, trucks, warships, and more.

US Forces are already tied down in the Middle East, which means you, the rest of rookie pilots on this base, and some National Guard units, are all that stands in the way of this invasion of American soil.

The flyable aircraft models available to stop this new threat are the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and the F-22 Raptor.
