I never had the chance to use the Amiga platform at the time. I’ve always been a Microsoft guy most of the time. So when I discover this flight simulator, I just had to play it.

It’s extremely closed to Jetfighter: The Adventure and Jetfighter II: Advanced Tactical Fighter for MS-DOS. I read somewhere that some of the people that worked on F/A-18 Interceptor later worked on the development of Jetfighter. if that’s so, you can really see it.

The game is very basic but fun, you can fly either the F/A-18 Hornet or the F-16 Fighting Falcon and only air-to-air weapons can be loaded on your plane, so no bombing raids here.

One thing that really stood out when I played it was the good sound quality, a big difference when compared to its MS-DOS counterpart. Find this game and play it, you won’t be disappointed.

This game is now abandonware and can be played in Windows OS. It has been tested on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 and so far no problems have been detected.

Back in the nineties, after my experience with the awesome Jetfighter II, I got my hands on the original Jetfighter III. It was mind blown by the changes made to the game compared to the previous releases.

Jetfighter III brought many changes not only in graphics but also in how many new thinks you could do with your planes. This meant new keys to memorize for all the new functions added to this version of the game.

Besides Jetfighter, the Jane’s Combat Simulations saga has been one of the best combat flight simulation ever made. I couldn’t play those games back in the day because my lack of “powerful” enough PC.

But now, thanks to some help from the internet I could install and run some of the Jane’s games on my current and more modern PC.

Since the Jane’s games are way more complex in terms of realism and actual simulation. I decided to play the game in Casual Mode for people like me, a first timer who wants to have fun and learn by doing.

Now that you have this guide and want to put in practice all you learned with it, you can install and make Jane’s F-15 on a modern PC following this instructions.
