I’ve had known about Jetfighter V for several years but never had the chance to play it. Now that I’m back into flight simulations I looked on Ebay and could get a cheap copy of the game and installed on my PC after some compatibility configurations.

The game is more “arcade” than simulator when compared to other titles of the Jetfighter Saga but still managed to keep the jetfighter spirit that made this saga memorable.

The Plot

While on a routine training mission, you’ve been suddenly called back to base. It seems that an invasion fleet has been sighted just off the waters of United States West Coast.

Few days prior to this call, The North Korea government reported that an unknown force has attacked its main bases, and made off with a large number of fighters, bombers, tanks, trucks, warships, and more.

US Forces are already tied down in the Middle East, which means you, the rest of rookie pilots on this base, and some National Guard units, are all that stands in the way of this invasion of American soil.

The flyable aircraft models available to stop this new threat are the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and the F-22 Raptor.

Jetfighter II: Advanced Tactical Fighter (1990) – Full Playthrough

How to Install Jetfighter II Advanced Tactical Fighter on Windows 11

JetFighter II: Advanced Tactical Fighter is a combat simulation video game published by Velocity Development in 1990.

The game lets you take to the air in the YF-23 ATF, also know as “Black Widow”, in a war against the Soviet backed Latin American Revolutionary Alliance (LARA) as they fight their way across California.

Fly from real airports and visit real locations, including a detailed representation of downtown San Francisco. Free-flight and instant flight modes are available if you just want to try a supersonic run under the Golden Gate Bridge or select from single missions or the continuing campaign against LARA.

Game options include a campaign mode, where mission successes and failures dynamically affect the overall war, free flight, and various other single mission scenarios.

The YF-23 has the naval package, which allows it to participate in carrier-borne operations alongside the F-14, the F/A-18 and the F-22. Also included is the F-16 for some land-borne missions.

The game’s campaign is called Revenge of the LARA and is divided in five sectors. Each sector is about 20 missions in length and have to be played in order. Depending on your performance on each mission you can be promoted, or in some cases demoted, from one sector to the other until you eventually beat the game.

Jetfighter: The Adventure is a combat flight simulator video game released in 1988 by Velocity Development for the MS-DOS operative system.

The game features the F/A-18, F-16, and F-14 in a hypothetical invasion of the United States west coast by the Soviet Union. Missions range from combat air patrols to bombing runs to intercepting cruise missiles. Plus, carrier launches and landings are also possible.

Among the graphics you can see on the game are detailed models of the city of San Francisco, California, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Transamerica Tower/pyramid, and more.

Jetfighter: The Adventure play-through

After almost 30 years I re-discovered this awesome game that I played back in the nineties. I have been playing it for weeks, mission by mission, some of them were quite easy but others were pretty hard.

And after all this time I could finally beat the game. 32 missions of blood, sweat, lots of swearing …and fun. Here is the whole play-through of the game for everyone to enjoy:
